About

The convention will take place over two days beginning the afternoon of Saturday, August 24th with a pre-meet event (see below) followed by a Grand Gala Event from 6:30-11pm with contests, prizes, hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, and dancing. An evening of frivolity and socializing with our favorite dolls in the style of the Great Gatsby.

Continuing on Sunday, August 25th from 11am-5pm, attendees will enjoy shopping at their favorite vendor booths, make and takes, group photos, and demonstrations.

We are very excited to announce not one but TWO pre-meet options!

The first will be Friday at 12:30pm at Canadian Pacific Plaza on the corner of 5th Street and 2nd Ave one block from the Government Plaza Light Rail stop. Grab a bite at one of over 25 food trucks serving foods from all over the world (including Vegan/GF)
Then we’ll walk to the Schmitt’s Music Wall where Prince’s photo was taken in 1977.

Our next stop will be the Mary Tyler Moore statue on the Nicollet Mall.

We’ll end our fun in front of legendary music venue, First Avenue. Then, we will go back on the light rail to Mall of America!

On Saturday from 12:30-3pm we’ll meet up at Gold Medal Park a few blocks from the US Bank Stadium light rail stop, next to the Guthrie Theatre.
With views of the historical Stone Arch Bridge and the Mighty Mississippi River. There’s lots of breathtaking views to backdrop your dolls.
And if you want you can grab an ice cream at Izzy’s just a half block from the park. (They also offer vegan/gf options!)
And we’ll be able to catch the light rail back to the hotel just in time to get dolled up for the Gala!

So come to one or come to both. We’ll see you there! 💜

The convention theme is The Modern Jazz Age: a celebration of the new Roaring 20s! The Great Gatsby (by F. Scott Fitzgerald) will provide influence for our convention theme (lavish parties, flapper girls, and zoot suits too!). To celebrate Minneapolis’ own beloved Prince (the musician), the doll for BlytheCon Minneapolis will be purple-haired Blythes. Don’t forget your Raspberry Berets! We hope the theme and doll choice will provide lots of inspiration for the coming convention!
